Oceanside, July 9th - Last night Republican councilmembers Rocky Chavez, Jack Feller and Jerry Kern once again stood up for hardworking Oceanside families and taxpayers by rejecting budget gimmicks pushed by the public employee labor union bullies.

Come Hear What Is REALLY Going On In Iran

San Diego, CA - You are cordially invited to join us on Monday night, July 13th, at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center at 6 PM for some serious Republican networking, followed by a special presentation on "What is REALLY going on in Iran", and what we, as Americans, can do to help their democracy movement.

Our special guests will be Mrs. Farrah Douglas and Mr. Roozbeh Farahanipour.

Mrs. Douglas was evacuated with her husband, Rick, and their son, Kevin, as the last civilian Americans in Iran in the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Currently she is the vice-chair of the Planning Commission for the City of Carlsbad, co-owns CDS Printing with her husband and serves on numerous charitable boards. Mrs. Douglas is the past-chair of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and a candidate for Carlsbad City Council in 2010.

Mr. Farahanipour is an Iranian nationalist writer and journalist, cofounder of the pro-democracy Marze Por Gohar party. He was jailed and tortured by the Iranian regime after the July 1999 'Student Uprising'. He escaped from Iran for exile in America, while continuing to be active in the Iranian democracy movement, and helped to pass AB 221, the "Divest Iran" bill, which was authored by our local east county Assemblyman Joel Anderson.
